A cashier at the Marjane Mall in Rabat was wounded Sunday and rushed to hospital for treatment after reporter Nicholas Pelham, the BBC correspondent in Rabat, hurled his cellular phone at her, Maghrib Agency Press (MAP) reported Tuesday.
A police source was quoted by MAP as saying that Pelham showed up to trade his phone for a new one at the appliance department and reacted angrily when his request was turned down, violently throwing his phone at the desk.
At the precinct, Pelham said he was maltreated by the shopping center security and denied causing any damage adding he would sue Marjane because security held him by force until the police arrived, the agency said, quoting the cashier as saying that she would take the BBC correspondent to court to face charges of assault -- Albawaba.com
