An Israeli cabinet minister said on Israeli radio Thursday that the Middle East peace process was dead, charging that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has chosen armed confrontation, reported Al Jazira satellite channel Thursday morning.

Benjamin Ben Alizar said that it was necessary for Israel to form an emergency government, saying that what Arafat wants is “war proper.”

In response, Palestinian Minister Hassan Asfour said that there is already a war going on against the Palestinian people, and the whole world is a witness to that – Albawaba.com
