ALBAWABA - Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir threatened Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the White House National Security Council spokeswoman expressed hope about a prisoner swap arrangement with Hamas.
Ben Gvir uploaded a video on his X platform account on Sunday threatening that "we will dissolve the government." if Netanyahu pursues the pact.
Ben Gvir called the American prisoner swap arrangement reckless and said it would imply forsaking Hamas' destruction.
In an ABC News interview, John Kirby said Washington expects Israel to embrace Biden's offer if Hamas does. CBS News received confirmation from an Israeli official that Netanyahu and the Security Cabinet had authorized the idea.
Biden's Gaza ceasefire plan was previously supported by the Palestinian movement. Netanyahu's political strategist, Ofir Falk, admitted today that the proposal was imperfect and needed clarity. However, he said it might free all Israeli captives in Gaza since October 7.
Biden's three-stage proposal aims to gradually achieve a Gaza ceasefire, release all detainees in return for hundreds of Palestinian captives, remove Israeli soldiers from the Strip, and begin rebuilding.
