Benjamin Nathan Cardozo a famous Jewish lawyer, who died in 1938, was the first Hispanic judge in the US Supreme Court and not Sonia Sotomayor who is set to be nominated by Obama administration.
Cardozo served on the Supreme Court from 1932 until his death. He was born in 1870 to a Jewish family which immigrated to America from Portugal.
