Digital Lifestyle Leader’s Projector Division among Top Three Brands in Four Regional Markets

Networked lifestyle leader, BenQ, continues to lead the digital solutions market with yet another strong quarter-on-quarter growth in the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Middle East projector, LCD monitor and LCD TV markets.

BenQ ranked No. 2 in the regional digital projectors market for four consecutive quarters, and in Q1, 2007, achieved 11.43 per cent share of market across APAC and the Middle East, according to DTC Worldwide, a leading market research company.

“We have achieved tremendous success over the last few years and our line-up of sleek, state-of-the-art and competitively-priced products, coupled with an aggressive sales and marketing strategy targeted at the Middle East’s growing consumer electronics market has catapulted our projector division into the top three brands in four markets,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ, Middle East & Africa.

“BenQ is currently the No. 1 projector vendor in Saudi Arabia, the largest regional IT market, with a solid 26.2 per cent market share.”

BenQ’s projectors also ranked No. 1 in Indonesia, Australia and Korea. The brand has secured the top three market positions in over 11 countries with market share exceeding 15 per cent in eight other countries.

“BenQ is the first vendor to use the most advanced DLP chipsets and this has cemented our leading position in the regional projector market,” added Bakshi.
BenQ’s ability to ensure the lowest noise level in the industry, as well as the stable projection performance and long product life to improve work efficiency all contribute to the success to the BenQ projector.
Apart from technology innovation, good channel management in line with the right product mix and pricing strategy have also contributed to BenQ’s product value and great sales results
BenQ’s early investment in the TFT industry has helped provide consumers with a wide range of products that meet market demands. Despite fierce competition, BenQ has maintained strong business momentum for its LCD monitors, reporting solid Q1 07 sales growth in emerging markets.

“We recently celebrated our fifth anniversary in the region and our projector segment has gained a strong reputation for its technology innovation and breakthroughs in optical and mechanism technology,” said Robert Dung, Managing Director, BenQ, Middle East & Africa.

Shipment volumes for BenQ’s LCD monitor range have also grown significantly, with over 100 per cent growth rate in the Middle East and the brand has ranked among the top three in most APAC and Middle East markets.

“This dramatic growth reinforces the trust our customers and partners have in our products and we remain strongly committed to bringing the latest products at the best prices to the region,” said Dung.

With Senseye technology combined with award-winning designs, the BenQ LCD TV is also witnessing strong Middle East growth.  BenQ LCD TV is currently ranked No. 4 in the Middle East and UAE markets; in Saudi Arabia, BenQ is among the Top three LCD TV brands.

“Strong technology competencies and versatile marketing methods have made it possible for BenQ’s products to enjoy successful sales results in APAC and the Middle East,” said Adrian Chang, President of BenQ Asia Pacific.  “We will continue to work diligently in providing products that fulfil market demands and obtain even better sales results to become the preferred brand.”
