Better Life, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group’s specialist home appliance division, held its second cooking demonstration for women at its flagship outlet in Dubai. Around 35 Dubai-based women were special guests at the entertaining one-hour cook off.
Guest chef for the event was Australian gastronome Anthony Reynolds, who has 24 years’ experience in the hospitality industry spread over 11 countries. He has worked at Michelin star restaurants in London, France and Italy, and helped open two five-star hotels in India and Myanmar.
Attending the cooking class at Better Lifes’ Strand Cinema outlet in Bur Dubai, Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, said: “Cooking demonstrations are a great way to introduce Better Life and its products to customers. Our first cooking class was a great success, and we received positive feedback from the participants. We aim to make this an annual event.”
“Better Life is more than just a home appliances brand, it is a fun brand that believes in giving something back to its valued customers,” he added.
The ‘Better Life experience’ for guests began the minute they entered the showroom, with fresh juices served from juice makers sold at the outlet and freshly baked muffins cooked in a Fisher & Paykel oven.
Healthy and refreshing summer coolers, two salads, seared chicken breast with sun dried tomato and ratatouille stuffing, and apple and sultana crumble were prepared by the chef. The interactive demo had the audience involved in stirring, measuring, and finally, sampling the food prepared.
After the demonstration, the audience had an opportunity to check out products on display in the showroom and interact with the Better Life staff. Some women tried making their own espresso or cappuccino from the fully automatic Siemens coffee machine and even helped the chef clean dishes in Fisher & Paykel’s built-in double dishdrawer.
“How a dish tastes is definitely affected by the appliances you use. The more sophisticated the appliance, the easier and quicker it is to cook – the Fisher & Paykel built-in oven is a real winner in that sense,” said Chef Reynolds.
Cooking tips and tricks, nutritional facts, and recipes for Better Life products were also handed out at the end of the demonstration to all the guests. Participants were also given compact Binatone juice extractors.
Other than the flagship outlet next to Strand cinema in Bur Dubai, Better Life showrooms are also located at Homes-‘R’-Us in Mazaya Centre; near the abra station in Bur Dubai; and on the Dubai-Sharjah highway. Better Life is also based at Madinat Zayed Gold Centre in Abu Dhabi; at Homes-‘R’-Us near the Gold Centre on Al Qassimi Street in Sharjah; and at the Fujairah Trade Centre in Fujairah.
Better Life is the only specialist home appliance chain in the UAE, with a collection of ten world class brands under its wing: Electrolux, Binatone, Terim, Admiral, Wolf, Scandinova, Starmix, Fisher and Paykel, Siemens, and Zanussi.
