B&G Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel and management company in the Middle East and operator of the Royal Club in Dubai's Palm Jumeirah Island, has announced that Calimera Habiba Resort, located in the popular tourist town of Marsa Alam in Egypt, has recently received an Award for Excellence from the International Travel Services (ITS) Group. Calimera Habiba Resort, which is owned by Balbaa Group of Companies and managed by B&G Hotels and Resorts, emerged as one of the best 60 hotels from a pool of over 4,000 hotels in the world. Eng. Ahmed Balbaa, Chairman of Balbaa Group, received the award from Mr. Ralph Schiller, CEO of ITS, during the awards ceremony held in Palma de Mallorca.

Criteria for selection of awardees included the level of satisfaction of guests for the service provided by the hotel; architecture and interior design; annual occupancy rate; the volume of hotel guests from Germany; and future demand. The distinction is expected to boost the interest in B&G Hotels & Resorts' chain of hotels across the GCC, including the Royal Club, which is the first hotel apartment on the prestigious Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.

Ahmed Balbaa, Chairman, B&G Hotels and Resorts, said: "This award is important not just for B&G Hotels and Resorts but also for the entire Middle East hospitality sector as it will help generate interest and enhance the region's reputation as an exciting world-class tourist destination. B&G Hotels and Resorts will build on this milestone to enhance the impact of our ongoing expansion initiatives in the region, especially with the launch of the prestigious Royal Club in Dubai's Palm Jumeirah, which is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of premium hotel brands."

Calimera Habiba Resort offers a unique tropical experience with its palm trees and long beaches as well as its verdant gardens that merge with the Red Sea’s turquoise waters. The hotel offers 300 rooms and suites, and is equipped with a full range of state-of-the-art facilities and amenities, including all-day dinning, gymnasium with Jacuzzi and steam rooms, a 527-square meter meeting room, swimming pools, and outdoor and indoor bars. The hotel also offers a variety of recreational activities including tennis, horseback riding and diving.

The Royal Club in Dubai's luxurious Palm Jumeirah Island features elegantly appointed, luxurious and fully furnished hotel apartments, and provides breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf.

"The Royal Club offers 50 beautifully decorated and exclusive hotel apartment units, with fully-equipped kitchens, open plan living-dining areas and private balconies. The club houses feature a full range of recreational facilities, including outdoor swimming pool, well-equipped gym, a children’s playground and restaurant. All guests have access to the club house and private beach. Guests can as well visit the Palm Jumeirah Atlantis Resort located on the Palm Jumeirah where they can have paid access to the aqua park facilities, including the experience of swimming with the dolphins,” added Wahid Attalla, Vice President B&G Hotels & Resorts, Dubai.

Specialising in site master planning, architecture and interior design, B&G Hotels and Resorts, with its sister concern Balbaa Construction and Consultancy, offers a complete turnkey hotel development service, from initial concept design to building handover. In 2005, B&G Hotels and Resorts teamed up with a market leader in hospitality and travel services to launch a joint venture company that caters to the vibrant hotel industry in the GCC. The company stepped up its operations in the UAE with the launch of the Royal Club in Palm Jumeirah and the opening of its office in Dubai, where it also targets emerging hospitality and tourism sectors in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.
