ALBAWABA - Kaylee Hottle died at just 18.
Kaylee Hottle's cause of death for "Godzilla vs. Kong" was disclosed Wednesday, one day after she was killed in a vehicle accident.
Kaylee Hottle, 18, died of "multiple blunt force injuries," the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to Fox News Digital. Her death was deemed accidental.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital that multiple agencies responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision in Ijamsville, Maryland, shortly before 3 a.m. Hottle was among three passengers in the vehicle.
Hottle was transported from the scene to an area trauma center, where she was later pronounced deceased," officials said in a statement.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1995 Honda Accord, operated by a 19-year-old Frederick man, traveled off the right side of the two-lane roadway and struck a culvert."
Sheriffs confirmed that "excessive speed" was a contributing factor to the collision. " In addition to the driver, two passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the collision," the agency stated. "The motorist was taken to a local hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. "One passenger refused medical treatment at the scene."
The department stated that the crash was still under investigation and urged any "potential witnesses" to contact sheriffs with information.
Her father, Joshua Hottle, posted an emotional video on social media shortly after her passing. "Kaylee's mother and four siblings are devastated," her father signed in ASL. "They are all at home, weeping. I'm on my way to Maryland to bring Kaylee's body home.
"He signed that his daughter's heart stopped before she arrived at the hospital after the collision." He signed, "Truly grateful for the 18 years we had together—and wish we had more."
Before landing her first feature film role, she appeared in commercials and advocacy campaigns to raise deaf awareness.
Kaylee Hottle played Jia in "Godzilla vs. Kong" and its sequel, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," an orphaned girl who builds a friendship with Kong and interacts with the monster through sign language.
Kaylee Hottle also appeared in a 2021 episode of "Magnum P.I." and is set to appear in the upcoming thriller "What Doesn't Kill Us."
