ALBAWABA - According to a German official source, US President Joe Biden will meet with the leaders of Germany, France, and the UK on Saturday in Berlin to discuss the escalation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Afterward, Biden, Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer are set to head to the US air base at Ramstein for talks on military support for Ukraine, to be hosted by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other dignitaries, the source said Tuesday.
"The visit is going to underscore the deep commitment and that transatlantic security resolute support," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated at a press conference.
The discussions on Saturday are part of Biden's three-day state visit to Germany, which began on October 10. During this time, he is also anticipated to meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Ramstein summit, which is scheduled to bring together more than 50 of Ukraine's allies, comes at a critical time for Ukraine as the US presidential election approaches in November.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has long criticized the United States for billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, echoing Russian statements on the crisis.
