British Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed "reservations" about London mayor Ken Livingston's comparison of the Israeli ruling Likud party to Hamas. Meeting Israeli Foreign Minister, Silvan Shalom on Monday Blair said, "The comment was "outrageous," and would have been better unsaid. He should stick to London affairs, rather than poking his nose in other affairs, Ynet quoted the British leader as saying.
On Sunday night, Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon stated that he expects London Mayor to apologize for comparing the Likud to Hamas. "Hamas is a murderous organization that has killed thousands of Israelis," Sharon said. "These kind of anti-Semitic comparisons are improper and must be dealt with."
