BNP Paribas, the number one banking group in the Euro zone, is organising a Golf Day for its key private and corporate clients at ‘The Montgomerie’ Golf Club in Dubai today (March 10th, 2007).
More than 100 amateur golfers, drawn essentially from the Banks clients in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as other GCC branches are expected to participate in the event and compete for the team and individual honours.
BNP Paribas has been a staunch supporter of sport events worldwide and has a long history of commitment to various international and local events. The Golf Day displays the bank’s appreciation for the loyalty and constant support extended by its corporate clients.
Since 1971, BNP Paribas has associated its corporate image with sports, mainly tennis. BNP Paribas is the sponsor of the French Open Tennis Tournament at Roland Garros, as well as a number of other competitive sports events. BNP Paribas recently decided to strengthen its commitment to tennis further by becoming the top sponsor of the Davis Cup, while taking on the role as official sponsor of the international competition.
BNP Paribas has played a valuable role in the promotion of sports internationally. The corporate Golf Day in Dubai underlines the bank's tradition of involvement in sports events.
The Golf Day starts at 11 AM with registration, followed by brunch and driving range practice. There will be a ‘shotgun start’ at 1.30 pm to allow groups to play simultaneously and finish the 18 holes.
A reception will be held at 6.30pm to be followed by prize distribution and dinner. A total of 150-200 guests are expected to attend the evening get-together.
BNP Paribas sponsors international tennis tournaments such as the French Open, Davis Cup Tennis, Paris Bercy Tennis Masters Series, WTA Tournament in Nice, WTA Tournament in Strasbourg, Handisport World Cup, etc. and a number of national and local tournaments.
In making tennis a pivotal part of its communications strategy in 1971, BNP Paribas anticipated the tremendous popularity boom the sport would enjoy in the early 1980s.
In addition to sponsoring prestigious sports tournaments, BNP Paribas supports competition at every level, from children to professionals. The group has emerged as a major sponsor of tournaments for all categories of players in France - amateurs, pros, juniors and adults - including the "Pont des Générations" Challenge for juniors and the Handisport French Open.
BNP Paribas has operations in 86 countries and all of the world's leading financial centers. The group's longstanding relationship with tennis makes it a natural partner to one of the rare sports played according to the same rules in every country, with universally recognized players. Most importantly, tennis embodies strong values embraced by BNP Paribas, anchored in competition, performance, fair play, openness, diversity and the pleasures of playing.
