ALBAWABA - The Gaza Board of Peace said on Wednesday that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) won't have a part in the new Gaza.
In a post on X, the board of peace replied to a comment by the U.S. Mission to the UN, "UNRWA has no place in the new Gaza. We are turning the page on the complex of perpetual aid dependency & conflict. The people of Gaza deserve better."
The U.S. Mission to the UN uploaded a clip of Ambassador Jeff Bartos, who was saying during a UN meeting, "UN Member States have a choice: Fund incitement, terrorism, and stagnation with pledges to UNRWA. Or fund the Board of Peace, giving Gazans a path to peace and prosperity. History will not forget."
The Board of Peace is an international transitional administrative body created by U.S. President Donald Trump as part of the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. Endorsed by the UN Security Council, it oversees the governance, reconstruction, and demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
