A small bomb exploded Tuesday outside the office of the Yemeni news agency (SABA) in Aden, police said, just a day after two other explosions in the southern Yemeni port city.
The bomb blew a hole four meters (13 feet) wide in one of the office's walls, situated in the downtown Tawahi district close to Aden's port. There were no casualties.
The wall of a church was partially destroyed Monday by an explosive charge while a shell fired at a hotel in this southern Yemeni city missed its target and fell harmlessly into the sea.
The two attacks came while Aden's residents celebrated the new year but there were also no casualties.
Yemeni Islamists regularly denounce end of the year celebrations and the selling of alcohol in Yemeni hotels.
Security in Aden has been tight ever since last October's apparent suicide bombing of the destroyer USS Cole in the city's harbor that left 17 US sailors dead and 38 wounded.
Dozens of FBI agents descended on Aden to take part in the joint investigation into that blast, as well as hundreds of US and Yemeni troops.
Armed confrontations are not uncommon in Yemen, where tribal law still dominates in large swathes of the rugged country and the population remains heavily armed -- ADEN (AFP)
