A bomb explosion Friday has stopped the flow of crude oil in a pipeline running from Iraq's Kirkuk oil fields to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan in Turkey, Iraqi officials said.
The attack took place early in the morning Friday, and officials said repair work would be complete within 48 hours.
"Attackers planted a roadside bomb near a section of the pipeline", one official quoted by Reuters said.
This is around the 30th time this year that the pipeline has been bombed by militants, the Oil Ministry said.
In the past, Iraqi officials have blamed Kurdish separatists for these attacks.
Separatist group the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) has claimed responsibility for past attacks on oil and gas pipelines in the region.
