A small home-made bomb exploded early Sunday outside an agency of Minoan Flying Dolphin, the company that operated a ferry which hit a well-charted rock outcrop and sank last month, killing 79 people, police said.

The bomb, made up of two small cooking gas canisters, broke windows at the agency and set a nearby newspaper kiosk on fire but caused no injuries in this northern Greek city.

A similar bomb exploded a week earlier outside the offices here of the Ship owners Association of northern Greece, also causing damage but no injuries.

Police said they expected leftist militants of carrying out both attacks.

The captain and first mate of the ferry Express Samena have been charged with manslaughter over the September 26 accident off the Aegean island of Paros.

Some passengers alleged that crew members were watching a football match on television when the ship struck the rocks and sank.

The ferry inspector who most recently renewed the Express Samena's seaworthiness certificate has also been placed under investigation.

More than 500 people were aboard the Express Samena at the time of the accident and two people are still believed to be missing -- SALONIKA Greece(AFP)
