A car bomb has exploded in the Libyan capital Tripoli, Reuters reports. Two guards have been injured.
The explosion at 0500GMT occurred outside the French embassy in the city, in what is thought to be the first such attack since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.
An embassy official was quoted by Reuters as saying, "There was an attack on the embassy. We think it was a booby trapped car," before adding "there was a lot of damage and there are two guards wounded."
Libya has held an uneasy peace since the revolution in that ousted Gadaffi, but new leaders are struggling to remove the thousands of weapons that flooded the country through the north African country's porous borders.
