Bombings in Baghdad kill 11, wound 28: officials

Bombings targeting public places near Baghdad have killed 11 people Wednesday, the Associated Press reported.

Iraqi authorities told AP a bomb exploded at a car parts shop southeast of Baghdad in the Basmaiya area, killing four and wounding 11. Another bomb in a commercial neighborhood in the capital killed three, while two more explosions in public markets of populated neighborhoods killed four and wounded 17 more.

Medical officials confirmed the death toll, AP said. 

Iraq has been the target of many Daesh (ISIS) attacks and suicide bombings.
