Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge)start commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2001 at its petrochemical complex in Ruwais, according to a senior official, reported Gulf News.
Teuvo Kulmala, CEO of Borouge Pte, Singapore, was quoted as saying the project remained within the budget and was ahead of schedule.
Borouge is a 60:40 joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Denmark's Borealis. Total cost of the project is $1.2 billion, according to the English daily.
Kulmala added that the estimated mechanical completion of the ethylene (currently 45 percent complete) and the polyethylene units (currently 30 per cent complete) is August, 2001 – Albawaba.com
