Jockey Glen Boss will be looking for a hat-trick in Saturday’s Emirates Doncaster Handicap, the highlight of the Emirates Doncaster Day at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse.

Boss has won the last two successive runnings of the Group One Emirates Doncaster, with Racing To Win in 2006 and last year with Haradasun. On Saturday, Boss will be hoping that the Chris Waller-trained Triple Honour can live up to his name and give him his third successive victory in the AUS$1.8 million race.

The Emirates Doncaster Day is the first day of the Australian Jockey Club’s three day Royal Randwick Carnival which is as famous for its on-track action as it is for the fashion and entertainment off the track.

Emirates will once again be hosting the crème de la crème of the Sydney social set, VIP guests, media and a number of local and Hollywood celebrities in its impressive hospitality marquee, which this year is based on Venice.

As Emirates continues to celebrate its successful Dubai - Venice route, the team behind the airline’s always impressive Royal Randwick Carnival hospitality has stopped at nothing to recreate the unique glamour, tradition and beauty of this famous Italian city.

Just as Venice is a city built on an island in the middle of a lagoon, the marquee will mirror the famous buildings along the canals and once inside guests will feel like they are in the middle of the Italian city. The interior of the marquee has been inspired by the rich tapestry of the buildings that line the Grand Canal

Nabil Sultan, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Gulf Middle East & Iran, said: “Emirates is once again proud to be associated with the Australian Jockey Club’s Royal Randwick Carnival; it is just one of the high profile events that we are involved in which demonstrates our strong association with Australia and with international sport around the world.

“We look forward to welcoming our guests to the Emirates marquee and I know that they will certainly enjoy the Venetian themed hospitality which is on offer.”

The innovative marquee design has a footprint of approximately 400 square metres, and features a balcony inspired by the waterside balcony of Hotel Cipriani with fabulous views towards the racecourse and the finish line.
