Three Jordanian intelligence officers and two employees working at the office were killed Monday in a militant attack on an intelligence branch near the Baqaa Palestinian refugee camp north of Amman, Ammon News reported.

The attackers are said to be in custody, with one still at large, according to an anonymous security source.

Jordanian government spokesman Mohammed al-Momani confirmed the attack, saying police are now investigating the case and will release additional information as it becomes available.

Later, the intelligence officers killed in the attack were identified as First Sergeant Louay Mohammed Faraj Zyoud, Corporal Hani Salim Moussa al-Qaidh, Corporal Omar Ahmed Falih Hiari, Ahmed Abdel Karim Harahsheh, and Mahmoud Khalaf Abd al-Razzaq.

The attack came as Jordanians celebrated the first day of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims.

In March Jordanian security forces thwarted a planned attack by a Daesh-affiliated cell in the northern city of Irbid.
