Rebels captured an Alawite village from regime control in western Syria on Thursday, before abducting its residents, according to reports by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The al-Zara village is located approximately 22 miles north of the city of Homs.

The assailants that attacked al-Zara were said to include fighters from the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, the Observatory said.
