Riad Hijab, the coordinator for the Syrian opposition, announced that a provisional agreement on a temporary truce in Syria was reached, according to reports from the pro-Syrian opposition Orient TV on Monday.
Hijab, a former Syrian prime minister who now leads the Saudi-backed opposition High Negotiations Committee, emphasized that the agreement would be enacted "according to international guarantees".
The committee was meeting on Monday in Saudi Arabia to discuss a U.S.-Russian plan for a ceasefire.
