One blast in eastern Baghdad targeted a commercial street on Thursday, killing at least 8 people.

Another car bomb in Taji, a town just north of Baghdad, killed at least 15 people, Iraqi media reported.

The explosions come as the Iraqi army and allied forces are trying to retake the strategic city of Fallujah, 70 kilometers west of Baghdad, from Daesh extremists.
