A British Royal Navy carrier group, led by HMS Ark Royal, and a United States submarine, were among 12 warships to pass through the Suez Canal Saturday on their way to Kuwait, according to canal authorities.
The Ark Royal was accompanied by three destroyers, the HMS York, Liverpool and Edinburgh, by the amphibious helicopter-carrier HMS Ocean and the landing ships HMS Sir Tristram and Sir Galahad, AFP said. The USS Montpelier also made the transit, the officials added. (Albawaba.com)
