A 45-year-old British journalist is biking across Oman for a month and dispatching reports on business, environment, women, development, travel and archaeology back to western news organizations.
The Oman Observer reports that the journalist, Penny Young, will be in the Sultanate form January 25 to February 18. Her reports will appear on the BBC World Service and other English radio services like Deutsche Welle and Netherlands. She will also submit her stories to several magazines, such as Middle East Magazine and the international airline magazine, Business Traveler.
Thus far, Young has been amazed by what she has seen. ''The whole country is fascinating. Oman seems to have achieved in 30 years what Britain took 1,500 years to achieve after the Romans were there in 400 AD. It's Phenomenal!'' she said.
