British police and customs officials here arrested four Belgians smuggling 60 kilograms (132 pounds) of heroin into Britain in their car, police said Saturday.
The suspects, two men and two women, had boarded a ferry in the Belgian port of Oostende. Authorities arrested them when they arrived in Dover on Friday, police said.
A child, whose age has not been released, was also in the car.
The heroin, worth five million pounds (8.3 million euros, seven million dollars) was hidden in three bags, two in the trunk and one under the baby seat.
Police have not released the names of those arrested.
Cooperation between British and Belgian authorities led to the arrest and confiscation, a British police spokesperson said -- DOVER (AFP)
