British policeme on Friday killed a "suspected suicide bomber" at a Tube station in south London. Armed officers opened fire up to six times on the suspect as he hurdled a ticket barrier and raced along a platform at Stockwell station, Sky TV reported.
Unconfirmed reports suggested the man was involved in Thursday's attack in London.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that just after 10am armed officers shot a male at Stockwell Underground station.
An earlier bomb threat targeting a mosque in east London has been given the all-clear by police.
Meanwhile, one of Britain's most outspoken Muslim clerics said on Friday Islamists would continue to attack London until the government pulls its troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed said the British capital should expect more bombings.
"What happened yesterday confirmed that as long as the cause and the root problem is still there ... we will see the same effect we saw on July 7," Bakri said, according to Reuters. "If the cause is still there the effect will happen again and again," he said.
