Brother Gulf, a subsidiary of Brother Group, Japan, has announced a record 33 per cent year-on-year growth for 2005, with total revenues exceeding AED 132 million. The company is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, SOHO’s and enterprises.
Brother Gulf’s excellent performance in 2005 comes in line with the ambitious Global Vision 21 unveiled by Brother Group. Global Vision 21 envisions the growth of Brother into a leading global company with annual revenues of USD 10 billion by 2012 and aims at transforming the company into a world-class manufacturer by developing outstanding proprietary technologies. Brother Gulf has also stepped up its focus on customer service in a bid to embody the company’s corporate motto of “At your side”, an integral component of Global Vision 21.
Commenting on the 33 per cent year-on-year growth in 2005, Yoshihisa Tsuji, Managing Director of Brother Gulf, said, “Over the past year, Brother Gulf had sought to target the booming IT peripherals market by delivering a unique range of products which incorporate patented technologies. We had focused attention on building strong customer relations, and it is encouraging to note that these efforts are yielding positive results. Our remarkable growth in 2005 is also a tribute to the sustained efforts by the Brother Group to enhance its R&D capability and thus maintain its excellence in product innovation.”
“The Middle East is an important market for Brother Group. The explosive growth in corporate activity across the region has opened up significant new business opportunities for Brother Gulf, and we are looking to make the most of it by expanding into new strategic markets and strengthening our distribution arrangements,” Tsuji added.
Brother Group is emerging as a premier developer of outstanding patented and proprietary core technologies, furthering its corporate vision of becoming a world-class manufacturer of printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, SOHOs and enterprises, based on the customer-first standpoint. The renewed focus on IT peripherals has triggered a significant surge in the global revenue of Brother Group, which is also reflected in Brother Gulf’s performance for 2005. With PC penetration in emerging markets such as the Middle East growing at an exceptional rate, and thereby fueling a concurrent surge in demand for IT peripherals, Brother Gulf is poised to maintain the growth momentum in the coming years.
In 2005, Brother Gulf had launched several new products, including upgraded models of its series of state-of-the-art Laser Printers. As part of its strategic expansion plan, the company is planning to increase its presence in India, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Brother Gulf is currently in the process of strengthening its distribution network in Africa.
Since its establishment in 1991, Brother Gulf has been delivering best-of-breed products to customers across the Middle East region. While Laser Printers, Facsimile machines and Multi-Function Centers (MFCs) form the mainstay products of Brother, the company’s product range also includes Labelling machines, Electronic Typewriters, Laminators, Stamp Creators, Home and Industrial Sewing machines, Industrial Embroidery machines and Machine Tools.
Brother Gulf is based in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, from where it caters to clients across the Middle East and Africa. The Dubai office serves as a regional hub for the supply of products and spare parts and also provides marketing, sales and technical support to the company’s regional operations. Brother Gulf has appointed distribution partners across the region to deliver its products to customers.
“Brother Gulf is committed to realize our corporate objectives as outlined in the Global Vision 21, and has been focused on fostering a customer-first corporate culture in all stages of our operations to enhance Brother’s brand image. We have been continuously working on honing our ability to react swiftly to market changes, in order to maintain and build our financial strength and viability,” Tsuji concluded.
