burjuman’s art & fashion to feature exclusive gaultier, longines, and swarovski displays

This month, BurJuman is offering the best of both worlds for anyone with a passion for art and fashion.  Featuring an iconic photographic exhibition, innovative time pieces and an exquisite fashion display, Art and Fashion will bring elegance and style together from 1-14 December.

Underlying the fact that fashion has no boundaries, BurJuman is pleased to host a photographic exhibition of the iconic French designer, Jean Paul Gaultier in collaboration with Esmod, the French Fashion University.  Held in the South Village, this pictorial display features a preview of some of Gaultier’s moments through the eyes of photographer Jules Jarry.  For over a decade, Jules has been capturing this designer’s influential career, behind-the-scenes persona and distinctive fashion all over the world.  This limited selection of works offers viewers an inside look at Gaultier’s 1980’s avant-garde fashion scene as well as his early creations.  This photo exhibition is complimented by a modern collection of Gaultier’s latest fashion, made available by Saks 5th Avenue.

Going back in time is another exhibition of time pieces by premier Swiss company, Longines.  Celebrating 175 years of masterpieces, Longines is displaying some of their finest collections spanning almost two centuries opposite Rivoli in the South Village.  Longines’ culmination of elegance and flair over the years is a reflection of their brand’s legacy and heritage, and this display will reveal nothing short of an elite collection.

Fashion ingenuity is also aptly demonstrated in the display, “seVen”, exhibiting currently in the Observatory, opposite Virgin Megastores.  Inspired by Swarovski’s new product brand, CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements, this display will present for the first time the unique seven concepts through the talents of seven Haute Couture designers Walid Atallah, Rami Al Ali, Ezra, Sohad Acouri, Amato, Arushi and Michael Cinco.  These designers have interpreted the seven brand values by expressing the underlying messages of the new Swarovski brand in their fashionable and glittering creations.

These exquisite displays are only a taste of the host of artistic presentations held in BurJuman this month.  From artists’ exhibitions to avant-garde fashions shows, December will bring eclectic fashion and creative art under one roof.

Art and Fashion 2007 exhibits will be on display daily in BurJuman from December 1-14, 2007 during mall hours.
