BurJuman, the pioneers in luxury shopping and leaders in retail excellence, will reinforce its position as the region’s ultimate luxury shopping destination, at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) from May 6-9, 2008 for the eight consecutive year.
Exhibiting at the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) stand, BurJuman will use its presence at the ATM to strengthen strategic alliances with hotels, tour operators and travel agents, while announcing details of its retail management consultancy strategy with Dubai World Central and other upcoming projects.
BurJuman will work with Dubai World Central to jointly market and manage its six ‘specialised clusters’, and cooperate in conceptualising the retail districts within the project. BurJuman’s expertise combines research-based marketing strategies, operations and leasing specialties, combining professionalism and creativity within a comprehensive development program.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in February of this year between Dubai World Central (DWC), the 140 square kilometre urban aviation project currently under construction in Jebel Ali, and BurJuman, with an aim to provide strategic leasing, real estate and marketing consultancy solutions.
“We are proud and excited to be allied with a project like the one Dubai World Central is aiming to accomplish,” said Mr Eisa Adam Ibrahim, General Manager, BurJuman. “BurJuman’s established reputation, along with its proven marketing consultancy plans and comprehensive methodology will enrich their practice with a broader level of business undertakings. We are looking forward to working with DWC to provide this exciting, high-value solution.”
The Dubai World Central has plans to open nearly 600 boutique outlets, which will add value to shopping attractions of Dubai, one of the main reasons why the Emirates welcomes an increased number of visitors every year.
“We have just completed the initial phase of the concept and design of the retail segment at Dubai World Central and hope to complete the architectural plan within the next few months. The project will include more than 80 million sq/ft of mixed-use development comprising shopping, leisure, entertainment and food and beverage.” added Mr Ibrahim.
Described as the residence of high fashion, BurJuman is attributed to having the world’s largest concentration of high fashion luxury shopping brands and are leaders in luxury retail. Given its recent retail expansions and ascribed marketing, leasing and operational developments, BurJuman’s leading marketing consultancy strategies will offer significant contributions to Dubai World Central’s retail markets.
“The retail evolution in the GCC market is flourishing at an unprecedented rate and Dubai World Central’s real estate components will cover nearly 430 million square feet, of which at least 20% will translate into retail units,” said Mr. Khalid bin Harib, CEO, Real Estate, Dubai World Central. “This collaboration will benefit DWC to further conceptualise the retail districts within this project and provide value-added benefits to both organizations.”
“We believe in the power of collaborative partnerships to manage emerging developments and to leverage best-practice knowledge and erudition,” said Mr. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, President of BurJuman. “The integration of BurJuman’s marketing and leasing strategies and methodologies will enable DWC to execute their plans and opportunities more efficiently and effectively.”
Today, BurJuman is home to some of the world’s finest luxury names, including Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Prada and Christian Lacroix to name a few, along with exclusive SAKS 5th Avenue, Valentino and Hermes outlets. BurJuman is one of the oldest malls in Dubai established in 1992 with over 800,000 square feet of gross leasable area (GLA) and a total retail size of 2.8 million square feet.
