Cisco®, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced a record number of registrations for its upcoming ‘CiscoX’ event. In less than two weeks since the opening of registration, Cisco has received over 1000 registration requests from the GCC, North Africa, Levant and Pakistan. 'CiscoX' is scheduled to take place on Nov 19-20 at Mina Al Salam Hotel.

This would be the first time such a large number of Cisco customers, partners and business leaders from the Middle East would congregate under one roof. The primary objective of CiscoX is for customer and partners to have first-hand experience of most innovative and exciting advanced technologies on the world market today.

Additionally, 'CiscoX' will celebrate the commitment and support from Cisco’s customers as well as the efforts of partners in achieving Cisco’s record growth of over 50% in FY 2006. The event would also showcase Cisco’s leadership and commitment to transforming the MEA region into a global technology and communications hub.

Commenting on the response, Samer Alkharrat, General Manager, Cisco Gulf said, “It is extremely exhilarating to witness the enthusiasm and support of our customers and partners in joining our effort. It is this attribute that has helped place the region on the fast track of the global IT revolution. We are positive that the event will be a successful and enriching one.”

Cisco Customers and partner will share their networking and communications learning and best practices amongst each other and will seek to gain from each others experiences. Partners will also have the opportunity of showcasing their unique capabilities and solutions and the event would serve as the ideal venue to network with some of the region’s leaders in networking and communications. Above all, the event will be a celebration of the regions success in transforming itself into a leading global technology adopter and innovator.
