Cairo: Pro-reform protestors clash with police

Scores of Egyptians clashed with police outside a prosecutor's office in the center of Cairo during a protest against beatings and arrests at an earlier pro-reform demonstration. According to AFP, the protestors chanted slogans against President Hosni Mubarak and shoved to get past riot police who surrounded the demonstration.

Policemen beat and detained a protestor after he plucked a hat off an officer's head and threw it on the ground. Another suffered a bloodied nose when he tried to help.

Two opposition members of parliament at the protest later went to the public prosecutor's office to file a complaint against police for beating up and detaining 90 people during a demonstration last week.
