Canada Resumes Diplomatic Relations with Sudan

Canada decided Thursday to open a diplomatic representation office in Sudan before the end of July, reported ArabicNews.com Friday, adding that the office will be an extension to the Canadian embassy in Addis Ababa.

The agency quoted a statement by the Canadian foreign ministry as saying that diplomat Nicolas Doglan, who used to serve the post of Canada's consul to Bogot?, was appointed as the head of this new mission.

This measure, however, falls in the course of a series of steps declared by the Canadian foreign minister Lloyd Axworthy in February to monitor conditions in Sudan, added the agency - Albawaba.com
