Spain has yet to issue an official stance on a Reuters report that said Madrid had canceled the sale of a shipment of bombs to Saudi Arabia.
Spain’s consul to Saudi Arabia Pablo Perez said Wednesday Madrid has not yet issued a statement on the report that alleged that his country’s Defense Ministry had started a process to cancel a contract signed in 2015 to sell 400 laser-guided bombs.
“Our ties with Saudi Arabia are fraternal and friendly. The Spanish embassy was surprised by these claims,” he said.
