Capital Club Bahrain appoints General Manager


With its premises in the heart of Bahrain Financial Harbour set to open in April 2009, the Capital Club Bahrain, part of Signature Clubs International, has announced the appointment of industry veteran David Williamson as its General Manager. Bringing to his role over 40 years of hospitality experience in the United Kingdom and the Far East, David’s primary responsibility will be to ensure a consistent superior level of service at Bahrain’s most prestigious business club.

“David has a proven commitment to providing excellence in service and a wealth of international experience in managing prestigious private clubs in emerging markets,” said Guy Guillemard, Chief Executive, Signature Clubs International – parent company of the Capital Club Bahrain. “Under his supervision the club will be able to provide dining, hospitality and business networking experiences that meet the high level of our members’ expectations.”

Prior to joining the Capital Club Bahrain, David’s experience included working with Grand Metropolitan Hotels in the U.K. and Trust Houses Forte in various senior management positions and as a restaurant franchisee. From 1975 onwards David successfully built his own group of restaurants which he later sold in 1983 as he relocated to Thailand.

During the last 25 years in the Far East David has managed many prestigious private clubs including the Bankers Club Taipei, the Bankers Club Kuala Lumpur, the Mercantile Club in Jakarta and the Capitol Club in Bangkok. He has also managed a golf course resort and several other catering related businesses.

Scheduled to open in April 2009 in Bahrain Financial Harbour, the Capital Club Bahrain is designed to offer its members exceptional meeting, networking and entertaining opportunities. The club is affiliated to 240 clubs around the world.
