An explosive device placed under a car in northeast Lebanon exploded early Friday without causing any casualties, state media reported.

The National News Agency said the blast occurred in the town of Hermel, which had been the site of multiple car bomb attacks in recent years linked to the war in Syria.

The report said the car belonged to a notary from the town identified as Musa Jaber.

No other details of the blast were immediately known.
