A car bomb exploded near the U.S. Consulate in the northern Iraq city of Erbil in northern Iraq, the capital of Iraq's Kurdish autonomy zone.
The Anadolu Agency is reporting causalities as a result of the bombing, but there is no official news. Other news agencies are reporting those wounded include four Westeners, including a woman eating at a nearby restaurant.
An Al Arabiya News Channel reporter saw smoke billowing near the explosion site.
Erbil is considered the most secure region in the conflict-ridden country.
