A car bomb exploded on Monday at a checkpoint in Yemen's southern city of Dhale, on the road to Aden, killing two soldiers and wounding one other, Reuters reported.
Another explosion hit the port city of Mukalla, also killing two soldiers, a security official told Reuters.
Witnesses said the blast in Mukalla was caused by a suicide bomber detonating a car bomb at a checkpoint on the west side of the city.
It is not yet clear which group might be responsible for the two bombings.
Yemen has been gripped by conflict since a Saudi military intervention began in March 2015 after Iran-backed Houthi rebels took control over much of the country.
