A 10-meter-long piece of the ceiling of Saqr Hospital's operating theater collapsed Wednesday morning, the Gulf News reported Thursday.
There was no surgery in progress at the time and no casualties were reported, the paper said.
Yasser Issa Al Nuaimi, head of the Ras Al Khaimah Medical District, was quoted by the daily as saying "Saqr Hospital was the only surgical center in the emirate and was thus of great importance."
The Ministry of Housing and Public Works and the Ministry of Health will be involved in the repairs, which will cost Dh4 million ($1,089m) -- Albawaba.com
