Celine Dion, performing back to back shows for the ‘Taking Chances’ World Tour, will be flying into Dubai on her private jet next week directly from her last concert in Johannesburg’s Monte Casino. Accompanying her on her 5 day trip to Dubai are her husband Rene Angelil, 7 year old son Rene Charles, mother, and 2 of her sisters. A chartered flight carrying the diva’s International entourage of 150 people will also be arriving in Dubai, 21 of the crew members are professional stage performers, ready put on a dazzling show to remember for Dubai along side Celine Dion!
Celine Dion's amazing show has been choreographed and directed by the hottest director and choreographer in the world of pop music- Jamie King! A multiple Emmy Award and MTV VMA (Video Music Award) nominee, King has choreographed some of the most popular music videos, directed some of the highest grossing concert tours of all time bringing his craftsmanship to world top artists including Madonna, Mariah Carey and Ricky Martin, among many others. King also choreographed the 1996 Academy Awards presentation. Beginning his career as a back-up dancer for Michael Jackson and Prince, King has quickly become a highly coveted pop concert director.
Preparations for the show, which started 6 months earlier, are now in full swing. The Canadian singer-song writer will be bringing 20 tons of personal gear along with her to Dubai. The technical advisors and sound engineers, which are part of her crew, will be accompanying her from Amsterdam, and the sound will be installed through equipment in the UAE. The preparation of the actual stage began last evening, with only 7 more days to go till the Diva performs in front of an Arab audience for the very first time. Dissembling of the concert equipment is estimated to take a total of 11 days.
