Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the UAE President’s Wife and President of the UAE Women's General Union (WGU), received Saturday in Abu Dhabi the wife of United States Vice President Dick Cheney, during her short visit to the United Arab Emirates, according to WAM.
Sheikha Fatima welcomed Cheney's wife, extending hope of exchanging expertise and cooperation between the women organizations of both countries.
During the meeting, aspects of development achieved by women in the UAE in all fields as well as efforts being exerted by Sheikha Fatima in leading the WGU had been discussed.
For her part, Cheney's wife hailed efforts made by Sheikha Fatima in achieving women development and advancement in the UAE, as well as her initiatives on the regional and international dimension to serve women causes.
Furthermore, she praised progress made by the UAE in all realms. The meeting was attended by Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan, wife of Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan, the wife of UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. (Albawaba.com)
