Chevrolet, with its Cruze racing cars, has taken the lead in both the Manufactures' and Drivers' championships of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) after exciting fifth and sixth rounds on the superfast racetrack in Monza, Italy, on May 23rd.

Chevrolet now leads the Manufacturers' Championship with 193 points, while one of Chevrolet's drivers, Yvan Muller, leads the Drivers' Championship with 100 points.

These results were off the back of Rob Huff's third place finish in Race 1 and a first place victory by Yvan Muller and a third place podium finish by Rob Huff in Race 2.

"It's good to be leading the championships so early in the season, especially after three races on circuits where we believed we wouldn't be that competitive," said Muller.

"Another good weekend for Chevrolet as we now lead both championships. The team did a terrific job during repair time to allow us to shine in Race 2," said Huff.
