With an unrivalled range of vehicles to suit everyone’s taste and purchasing power, Chevrolet is making a huge statement with the opening of the eagerly awaited Bin Hamoodah showroom on Abu Dhabi’s corniche.

Showcasing Chevrolet’s most popular models, the showroom was officially unveiled by Bin Hamoodah Chairman, Faraj Bin Hamoodah and Maureen Kempston Darkes, GM Group Vice President and President of GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East (LAAM).

Speaking at the opening, Ali Bin Hamoodah, Vice Chairman, Bin Hamoodah Company, said: “The new showroom illustrates our continued mission to delivering a great ownership experience for both existing and new customers. Chevrolet provides exciting options to Abu Dhabi’s motoring enthusiasts – from the iconic Corvette Z06 which is the fastest, most powerful production Corvette ever built and the award winning TrailBlazer, to the fantastically popular entry level Aveo, Optra, Epica and the newly released Spark. We have spent the last 28 years focusing on exceeding customer expectations and with a line up like the one Chevrolet has to offer we are confident we can extend the same service to thousands of motorists in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. ”

Chevrolet has accounted for 65% of GM sales across the region in 2005. Commenting on the growth that the Chevrolet brand has experienced, Terry Johnsson, Managing Director, General Motors Middle East, said: “As GM’s foundation brand, Chevrolet is central to GM’s strategy for growth and its popularity in the region due to the brands long standing reputation for quality vehicles. Customers trust the brand and are confident they will be purchasing a reliable and safe vehicle at a reasonable price, adding to the strength of the Chevrolet range in the region.”

“By opening up lucrative new market segments through the introduction of its line of small models, Chevrolet has made a solid impact on GM’s standing across the region. We continue to explore ways to strengthen our position and this will happen through the introduction of new models and entering new segments,” Johnsson continued.

In addition to the Corniche showroom, Bin Hamoodah is refurbishing its existing facility in Abu Dhabi, which will be ready in March 2006.  The retailer is also in the process of completing its Al Ain based showroom, enabling residents to own and service a Chevrolet. This outlet is slated to be complete next month. “Both facilities will continue to feature our other GM brands – Opel and GMC,” concluded Bin Hamoodah.
