The ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to France, Sultan Mubarak Al Eryani, submitted his credentials Monday night to French President Jacques Chirac at the Elysse Palace, the official UAE news agency (WAM) reported.
The ambassador conveyed to the French president and people the best wishes from UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his people.
“The French president hailed Sheikh Zayed during the meeting, and described him as a great statesman who has [made his mark] on world politics,” the ambassador told the agency.
Eryani added that “the French president hailed the relations between the two countries, saying that they were all in the same boat. France and UAE are united as far as terrorism and combating it are concerned, particularly in the wake of the terrorist attacks in the US on September 1, 2001.” -Albawaba.com
