French President Jacques Chirac is due to visit three key Arab states early next week, officials told AFP Wednesday, as the French leader continues with a string of high-level meetings linked to the current terrorism crisis and the Middle East situation.
The official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) reported on the visit itinerary on Tuesday.
Chirac is to travel to Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on Monday and Tuesday, the president's office said.
However, the Cairo-based Al Gomhuria newspaper said Wednesday that Chirac would start his visit to Egypt on Sunday.
The president's trip to the Middle East "is part of France's diplomatic activity linked to the September 11 attacks" in the United States, French officials said – Albawaba.com
