The inaugural Cityscape Abu Dhabi opens tomorrow (Tuesday, May 08, 2007) in the UAE’s Capital City. The event will run from May 08 - 10 at the state-of-the-art Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The premier property and investment showcase is expected to attract thousands of visitors, fuelled by Abu Dhabi’s burgeoning AED 991.7 billion real estate sector and the recent liberalisation of the emirate’s property ownership laws.
The three day exhibition celebrates the best in Abu Dhabi’s booming real estate, architecture, urban planning and design sectors and will feature more than 200 exhibitors from 50 countries. In addition, two parallel conferences will run alongside the exhibition, with one focusing on Waterfront Developments and the other on Real Estate Finance and Investment.
Held under the patronage H.H. General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and organised by IIR (Middle East), Cityscape Abu Dhabi is supported by a number of leading organisations including TDIC, ALDAR, Sorouh, Tamouh Investments, Aqaba Development Corporation and ESCAN.
Simon Horgan, CEO, ADNEC said, “Cityscape Abu Dhabi is an extremely significant event for the emirate. Abu Dhabi is the scene of the most spectacular development, across every aspect of its infrastructure; projects committed through the next five years alone have an estimated value of more than AED500billion (US$164billion). High profile, high quality exhibitions such as this are good news for Abu Dhabi as they draw an international audience and place the city firmly on the world stage.”
City Scape Abu Dhabi is the 10th major exhibition to take place at ADNEC which was opened in February 2007 by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The multi-purpose venue is the most modern exhibition facility in the world and boasts 28,000 square metres of exhibition floor space over seven interconnected halls, two luxurious conference rooms, 16 meeting rooms and a 2,000sqm food court.
When fully complete in 2008, ADNEC will consist of 55,000sqm of exhibition floor space making it one of the largest exhibition venues in the Middle East.
