The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning to users of Clarcon skin products after a recent inspection found high levels of disease-causing bacteria in its factories. The FDA released a statement saying consumers who have any Clarcon products should throw them away immediately.
Clarcon Biological Chemistry Laboratory Inc. also issued a voluntary recall of skin sanitizers and creams. In its statement, the FDA had a tone of urgency because some of Clarcon's products are for use on open wounds and damaged skin. The results of the inspection apparently fell well short of the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
