Residents said Yemen's Houthi rebels have continued clashes in the north and south despite agreeing to a ceasefire earlier that same day, Reuters reported Monday.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting Shiite rebels in Yemen announced a five-day ceasefire to begin at 11:59 p.m. Sunday to allow deliveries of humanitarian aid. Hours later, Saudi-owned TV reported Houthi shelling in the northern al-Tawal region near the Saudi border and the kingdom's retaliation.
In the southern city of Aden, residents said Houthis continued firing missiles at the Mansoura and Sheikh Othman districts in the early morning shortly after midnight.
The Houthis could not be immediately reached for comment, Reuters said.
