Creations 2010 continued to mesmerise fashion enthusiasts at Dubai Mall on Friday, February 19, by featuring the works of renowned international designer Rohit Verma and UAE fashion royalty Amber Feroz, while aspiring designer Asma Rafiq showed why she’s one of local fashion’s best discoveries with her latest collection.
Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Creations 2010 is one of the featured events of Dubai Shopping Festival, and among the most highly attended events in the region’s leading shopping, leisure and entertainment extravaganza.
Rohit Verma’s latest masterpieces were among the evening’s most applauded ensemble. He showed why his works have been featured in London runways as dazzling crystals and intricate beadworks beautifully highlighted his elegantly crafted evening gown collection.
Amber Feroz added contemporary chic to an already glamorous evening as gorgeous models walked the ramp to showcase his latest collections – a mix of fine, flawless silk ensembles and slip on dresses in monochromes asymmetrical designers.
Awarded the most Innovative Designer in 2009 Fashionova Dubai, an aspiring designer, Asma Rafiq showed why she’s the next designer to watch as she showcased her stylishly designed and beautifully accessorized collection.
Creations 2010 continues the fashion extravaganza with the works of international designer Fahad Hussayn, local fashion czar Furne One and the works of fashion design students from Preston University.
Furne One, the UAE-based designer in focus, rose to global fame when international supermodel Heidi Klum cherry picked him to design the 18 gowns for the finale of Germany's Next Top Model last year. Since then, Furne has added international celebrities to his growing clientele that includes the royalty and local fashionistas.
One of the most well known designers from Pakistan, Fahad Hussayn has established himself in the international fashion industry over the past 4 years. Winner of the Designer Award in the 2009 Pakistan Fashion Week, he specializes in ethnic, bridal & Haute Couture. His collection can also be seen at high-end boutiques in London.
‘Creations’ was conceived as a showcase for talented amateur fashion designers from the UAE and the region to showcase their work in Dubai alongside international fashion designers from around the world. Shows for aspiring designers will start at 5pm, with 6:30pm slotted for established designers, and the 8pm show for international designers.
This year, a total of 16 international models – including Miss India 2005 and Bollywood actress Sayali Bhagat, Miss India 2008 Tanvi Vyas, Miss International 2nd runner-up Ana Ostorjic, and Miss Earth England 2008 Holly Ikin, among other noted models - will entertain the visitors, shoppers and fashionistas in three shows a day until February 21 at the Fashion Atrium of Dubai Mall.
