Cognizant Named To Fortune Magazine’s Prestigious Fortune 1000 Listing
Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH), a leading provider of global consulting, technology and business process services, today announced that it has been named to Fortune Magazine’s prestigious Fortune 1000 listing. Fortune 1000 is a list of the 1000 largest American companies, ranked on revenues by the American business magazine. The report appears in Fortune magazine’s May 5, 2008 issue.
Cognizant’s revenue for 2007 was $2.136 billion. Based on this, the Company entered the listing at number 859. Founded in 1994, Cognizant has made it to the prestigious list just in the 14th year of its operations. Notably, Cognizant had recorded its first one billion dollars in annual revenue in 2006 in less than 12 years since its inception. Subsequently, it took the company just additional 18 months to cross the second billion in revenue in 2007.

For Cognizant, the Fortune 1000 recognition follows a series of other accolades that the company has received in the recent past. Over the past 18 months, Cognizant became an S&P 500 company, entered the Forbes Global 2000 listing, made it to the Fortune 100 Fastest Growing listing for the 5th consecutive year, and was ranked sixth in Forbes 25 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies list and 19th on the BusinessWeek Top 50 Performer’s list. Cognizant was also ranked America’s Second Most Shareholder-friendly Company in the Computer Services & IT Consulting Industry by the Institutional Investor magazine.
